Attractions

There are many more "places to go" & "Things to Do" in this part of the world than probably any other - not only the world renowned theme & adventure parks but beautiful lakes, gorgeous beaches, the Everglades & wildlife parks are all within easy driving distance & provide the ideal contrasts to the commercial side of entertainment in the Orlando area.  One thing is for sure, you will not hear the kids say "I'm bored" in the Sunshine state!!

We do not pretend to give a full catalogue of information on any subject here & in fact are fervent supporters of good guide books which do the job magnificently & can help you save a lot of time, money & effort.  Here are just a few of the best known to get you started…..

Visit Florida - the official travel planning web site for the state of Florida. Lots of information under dozens of headings.

Orlando Info - Orlando Travel & Visitors Bureau, including attractions and online ticket purchasing.

Florida Webcams - a variety of webcams and video clips, including hurricanes

Parks

wpcaa7ebb1_0f.jpg If you have kids, then you’ll probably be visiting the major theme parks, but we’ve included some other attractions that don't need a fortnight to complete!

Disney World - including The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, Animal Kingdom, and the Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon Water Parks.

Busch Gardens - another popular destination, the site offers information and ticket sales

Seaworld - information and ticket sales.

Discovery Cove - swimming with dolphins.

Universal Studios

Orlando Info - the Orlando and Orange County Convention and Visitors Bureau, with reasonable overviews to some of the theme parks and shopping facilities.

Cypress Gardens - with shows, rides, gardens, animals, concerts and events, there's a lot to see at Cypess Gardens

Arabian Nights - "The most honoured dinner attraction in the world". Enjoy a meal, followed by the spectacular Arabian Nights fairy tale show on horseback.

Silver Springs - a 350 acre natural theme park. See fish, shellfish, turtles and alligators from our famous glass-bottomed boats.

wp288370e0_0f.jpg Kennedy Space Center - All sorts of things to see and do at NASA's launch headquarters!

Wet 'n' Wild - America's number one water park. Looks fun!

Pirates Dinner Adventure - enjoy a meal, a swashbuckling musical pirates adventure, and round off the evening with a spot of partying at the Buccaneer Bash!

Dino World - an outdoor museum that is not just about prehistoric animals. Possibly aimed at the younger element!

Gator Land - the "best half-day attraction" in central Florida! Alligators and crocodiles, train rides, aviary, breeding marsh, bird sanctuary, petting zoo, nature walk, and more! Nice site (although it sometimes takes a few clicks to get it to load) , with a Gatorcam in the "Fun Zone".

Green Meadows Petting Farm - Over 300 animals including pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, donkeys and more, all in a quiet country setting.

Undercover Tourist Tickets - A good list of attractions, and tickets for sale at a discount on gate prices (but you should also compare with the online prices on the appropriate web sites).
